Karma’s Year End Review

What an absolutely phenomenal year 2009 has been! It all began back in March when I started dieting and training for the WBFF Alberta Championships. Before I hit the stage, I had the opportunity to work with the amazing Annette Milbers-Fleck and David Ford for their Shoot Outs. That work produced some great images!

Then on July 4th, a childhood dream came true! I became a Professional Athlete. I took the Overall Figure title at the WBFF Alberta show. I was over the moon. As a prize for earning my Pro Figure status, I received sponsorship from Cellucor. This supplement company is a perfect fit. Their product line is geared towards elite athletes. Their marketing states: because results matter…and this could not be more true. I’m impressed with their professionalism as well as how Cellucor’s various supplements compliment my training and nutrition.

Between the Alberta Championships and the Worlds, I was able to accomplish a few more wonderful things. For the first time, I was published in a magazine. I was one of the Feature Fitness Models in Status Fitness. I’ve also seen my photos in Inside Fitness’ coverage of this season’s WBFF shows. Who knew so much could be achieved in a such a short time?

In September, it was off to Toronto for the WBFF World Championships. I didn’t fare as well as I would have liked. However, I look at that as an opportunity to come back in 2010 and surpass all expectations. It’s given me a greater sense of purpose and passion.

What lies ahead for 2010? Many adventures. My fiancé, James, will finally be returning home after a very long 2 year deployment overseas. I’ll be moving to the United States and we’ll be buying a home, as well as getting married. I’m so excited to be back with him. From a professional standpoint, I want to be working with the Marine Corps as well as training others on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

In the meantime and immediate future, the plan is to enjoy the holiday season with family and friends.
