Personal Training Is My Business
February 03, 10
As a personal trainer, building your client base is one those aspects in life that you get out of it as much as you put into it. The smarter you are about carefully crafting your business, the more solid the foundation is going to be. And, it’ll stand the test of time longer as well.
How do I do it? How do I gain and retain my clients? There are a variety of avenues I explore. Most of my options are very simple and have little out of pocket expense (play smarter…not harder). One of the greatest ways to gain new clients is through client referrals. It’s amazing how fast word-of-mouth travels. Happy clients will be more than willing to share their success with those who are also in need of my help. Cellucor products work the same way. Many people will ask me what I take and what works for me – I, in turn, refer them to Cellucor to help them achieve their results.
There’s also a gold mine of opportunity right within the walls of the gym. It can be as simple as just asking for the business. I keep an eye on those people who are struggling and tune my ear into what members are saying about their lifestyle. I’ve made it a habit to stay in the gym when I don’t have clients. The more the members see me, the stronger their confidence is in my abilities. You never know when a “walk-in” opportunity will present itself. I’m always ready with business cards and options that will assist people in reaching their goals!
Another resource I take advantage of is Facebook. It’s a wonderful tool that doesn’t cost a thing! I ensure I present myself in a professional manner. I’ll write Health & Wellness articles and post those pieces. And, I will also post pictures of my own personal progress. The combination of those efforts often spikes interest from people who are looking for a positive change within their own life. Being your own walking billboard speaks volumes – people always want to know what I’m doing to keep myself in shape. When you live the lifestyle, people respond with greater enthusiasm.
Being a Personal Trainer is a business. And, it takes a lot of work to be successful. However, it’s the most rewarding career ever!
