A Brief History of Cellucor

This blog’s purpose is to provide updates to our customer base about Cellucor. There is a lot happening day-to-day with the brand as it continues to become more popular and this blog will allow me to share more about those developments.

I would like to dedicate our first blog to telling Cellucor’s story to the fans and supporters all across the world. The Cellucor brand began 8 years ago with nothing more than an untested vision, 2 dedicated entrepreneurs and a few thousand bucks. Our first warehouse was a duplex, our stock room was a bedroom closet and our sales pit was also the living room, carefully modified for business during the day. We were truly after the American Dream.

We had exhausted our startup piggy-bank fund buying our introductory inventory. Back then we only had one product, P6 Extreme, a testosterone booster. We had spent years developing the concept of Cellucor and finally felt we had something special. It was time to sell! Day 1 came and went, no sales. Day 2, no sales. This pattern continued until the beginning of our 2nd week when we thought we would surely be closing our doors when finally, a local gym agreed to pick up 6 bottles. The next day, nothing! We carried along this way for the next few weeks, making a small sale here and there and also throwing up goose eggs. It wasn’t until the middle of the second month when things started to change. It just so happened that some of the customers who had purchased our P6 Extreme were getting really ridiculous results from their workouts. The phones started to ring, and people were starting to say, “I have a buddy who started taking some of your workout supplements and man!!! He is getting so big. What is he taking?” The local gym who had placed the first order for 6 bottles called and reordered, accept this time it wasn’t 6 bottles, it was 48 bottles! This is truly how things began. Our customers became our sales force.

During the first year we relied on our customer’s word of mouth and focused on expanding Cellucor within our home state of Texas. It wasn’t until year 2 that the company had enough money to hire a sales person and began tackling new states. The company finally began to get some traction in the middle of the second year and was able to launch its second and third products, M5 Extreme, our creatine product, and R3 Extreme, our post workout recovery product. We had completed the lineup for our muscle growth series. Years later we would end up adding to it.

The next several years were extremely successful but also brought many challenges. We introduced a weight loss series of supplements, did our first million in sales and expanded our workforce to 5 people. We were definitely growing at this point. We also ran out of room and needed to find a real warehouse. We acquired 5000 square feet in a relatively inexpensive part of town and made the move. The new warehouse seemed huge but then again, it would only be another 2 years before we had to buy a new facility and expand again. What I remember most about that time period was the passion and conviction of everyone involved. We truly had something special.

Over the course of the next 4 years, Cellucor expanded its distribution to Canada, Australia, France, Spain, South Africa, India and Southeast Asia. Cellucor sales have grown more than 3000 percent since year 1 and the company now employs roughly 40 people. Cellucor continues to gain market share and to this day the company hasn’t really spent a dime on traditional advertising. All of our growth is attributable to our customers and their remarkable success stories.

It is our commitment to never lose sight of what got us here and always challenge the mold when it comes to service and innovation. The future looks bright!
