10 RESOLUTIONS FOR A BETTER LIFE AND BETTER HEALTH

1. Create a 1-year, 5-year and 10-year plan. Set obtainable goals and hold yourself accountable to reaching those goals. Most of you are probably thinking about fitness plans right now, but I am talking about a life plan (financial, family, career and yes, fitness).

2. Reconnect with old friends and rekindle those relationships. With facebook, linked-in and all the other social sites, this is entirely possible. The feeling achieved through reconnecting is one of the greatest feelings you can possibly experience. Stop wasting time and reconnect with at least 1 lost friend this year.

3. Join a gym or a group exercise program. At least 30 minutes of exercise per day can do wonders for your mental state, not to mention the impact it can have on your body.

4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants. Be green and stop putting foods that are loaded with preservatives into your body. You are what you eat!

5. Get a physical from your doctor and visit the dentist at least every six months. Don’t be afraid of getting a bad report, you will only be healthier if you are well informed and have an opportunity to make the necessary changes.

6. Take up some form of meditation and practice it for at least 20 minutes a day. Whether it is prayer, yoga or tai chi it doesn’t really matter. The main thing is to separate yourself from your busy schedule and tap into your inner-self.

7. Try and be an emotion shifter by making people smile. If you take it upon yourself to make at least 3 people smile each day you will change the world you live in for the better.

8. Take your vitamins and consider adding fish oil to your daily supplement regimen. The benefits of omega 3 fats are undeniable and may help reduce your risk for many diseases.

9. Go on a vacation this year. If you don’t have a lot of money, consider a camping trip with family or friends.

10. Spend at least an hour a day outside. Take a walk, play golf, start a garden. As long as you are outside, you are getting the many health benefits of the sun’s rays. Although dermatologist recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun, a little fun in the sun is good for you due to the health benefits of vitamin D.
